who are in danger, either physically or emotionally.
"Children Who Witness Abuse" Program:
This program
offers free and confidential
individual counselling to children
and youth from pre-school age to 18 years
and counselling,
support and referrals to parents.
"Stopping the
Violence" Program:
This program provides
counselling and support to women who are in danger, either physically
or emotionally.
"Stopping the Violence Outreach" Program:
This
program is a
free and
confidential service and is able to
assist women by providing
transportation, information
and referrals, accompaniment to appointments,
advocacy
and seeks to empower the women who
access service so
that they may
find safety and control in their lives.
"Specialized Victim Support" Services:
(Community Based) This program provides support in reporting
crimes to the police, help with legal
procedures, and court preparation.
Victim Support services offers emotional support and practical
assistance, including guidance through
the legal system. (Community Services Association)
Police
Based Victim Services: Police-Based Victim Services is
located within the Powell River RCMP Detachment and works closely with the
police to provide support services to victims of all crime types.
"The Poverty Law Advocacy" Program:
This program provides free
and
confidential service to people with legal poverty related issues, including
applying for provincial and federal
benefits of all kinds, appealing
denials, tenancy issues, debt and collections, employment problems, human
