Whether you are a survivor of abuse, a family member of someone who has been victimized, or you're in fear of becoming a victim, Powell River Specialized Victim Support Services (Community Services Association) offers emotional support and practical assistance, including guidance through the legal system.

Some of the services we provide are:

      Reporting
         We will support you in reporting the crime to
         the police. (If this is your choice)

      Legal Procedures
        We will explain legal and court procedures.
         We will also provide information on Peace
         Bonds and Court Orders.

      Court Preparation
          We will go with you to the courthouse for a
          pre-trial visit to help you feel more comfortable
          with court procedures.  We will accompany you
          to the preliminary hearing, the trial or any other
          court appearances you may have.

     Court Reports
        We will liaise with Crown Counsel's office and  
        keep you up to date on the status of your case.

     911 Phones and Alarm Systems
        We will assess your eligibility for emergency 
        response systems and supply if appropriate and
        available.
